Hey peoples! Summer is finally here and you know what that means: bacon! Actually, for me, every season means bacon, but I especially love it in the summer on a nice cobb salad or sprinkled on scrambled eggs, au gratin potatoes or festive tacos. It’s like the little (or not so little) black dress you can wear anywhere that never lets you down. Except, unlike the dress, I have been known to dream about bacon and wake up purring!
I’m going to be posting my top ten favorite foods in the next few weeks and inviting readers to send in recipes with them. I promise to read each and every one and will post my favorite and, hopefully, one that all of you will want to try. Please comment on them and let me know what you think so i can keep improving the blog for my fellow foodies.
Please send all recipes to betsyscandy@gmail.com
Ok, bacon lovers, show me whachu got!! I’m so ready to learn more ways to get the bacon that’s outside of my body INSIDE! To hell with bikini season, let’s live a little and embrace god’s crispy gift to the world!
Life is too short to eat turkey sausage! Lol!

Bonjour Betsy.

Bonjour Amelie! Wow, my first French visitor to the blog, this is so exciting! ça va? And you’re named after a movie I loved: Amelie! I only studied French for 2 years in junior high, so I had to use google translate to help me understand your message. I hope it did a good job! lol At the end, it claims you said you will eat me! That part had to be wrong! Right?
Besides my fantasy to live with Jude Law in our flat with two norwich terriers and my pomeranian, Brulée, in London, I also have a Parisian fantasy that involves living on one of those islands in the river there and eating my way through each day. I agree that the French have such good taste and an amazing love of food. But I also like to think that Americans do too! I mean, we have stuff like fried chicken and hamburgers and pizza, but that stuff is tasty too! And we have other things, like lobster and fruit salads and cheesecake, that are amazingly delicious! And we’re not all as fat as Europeans think we are! I like to think we’re well fed and just supporting our farmers, who have to make a living too!
If I ever come to Paris, we’ll have to meet in a patisserie for brioche and croissants! ()-:
All this talk of things Francais is making me crave brie. Time to run to the store!
Au revoir!
Betsy
